Will we have the benefit of an ATOL facility?

Yes you will have access to the Midcounties Co-operative ATOL facility. The growth in dynamic packaging is a major feature of the travel industry in the UK and we recognise the importance of an ATOL facility for our members to create their own holiday packages, secure in the knowledge that all arrangements are legal and guidelines adhered to.

Do we need to arrange our own bonding with ABTA?

No, we will do that for you. You will enjoy the benefits of The Co-operative Travel Consortium ABTA membership without the need to provide individual bonding or membership fees. When your application is complete you will be notified of your new ABTA number.

Do you offer credit card facilities?

We provide all members with a PDQ machine for credit, debit and charge card payments from customers. You will also enjoy the benefit of competitive transaction charges.


Lifestyle
How long does the application process take?

Once the application has been approved, we estimate a lead time of 5–6 weeks for us to ensure everything is set up for you. We would liaise with you throughout this process to keep you up to date with the progress of your application.

Security

Can I use my own computers?

We ask that all members of the Co-operative Travel Consortium supply their own hardware. You must operate Windows XP Professional, Vista (Business or Ultimate) or Windows 7 as a minimum. Broadband facilities are optional and you can either provide your own or we can arrange on your behalf at competitive rates.

Will we be trained on how to use your technology?

We provide training for all applicants which is free of charge. In addition support will available when trading commences and ongoing as and when required.


Miscellaneous
What other ongoing support is in place?

Our members have access to the Operational Support Team based in our offices in Walsall. We are on hand to assist you from Monday to Saturday and Sundays during peak trading months. You will also have access to our in-house intranet where you will find information on all subjects relating to the day-to-day running of your business.

How do I receive my commission?

We produce a detailed monthly commission statement and your commission is paid on the 15th day every month by BACS into your designated bank account.

What do you offer in terms of commission rates and staff incentives?

Being part of the Midcounties Co-operative, you will enjoy some of the best commission rates in the industry. We also offer monthly staff incentives and a adhoc tactical deals from our tour operator partners. You will receive a daily commercial message with details of any new offers and deals, along with a monthly commercial terms updates.

How do payments to the Tour Operators work?

All customer monies are paid into a central account from which supplier payments are made. We recognise that efficient administration costs money and time, therefore through our Centralised payment system you will enjoy huge savings. This relieves you from the responsibility of meeting deadlines and monthly returns, leaving you free to concentrate on increasing sales and developing your business.

How does The Co-op Travel Consortium make its money?

We apply a monthly management fee as agreed in your application process.
